There has never been a better time to start or continue cycling in the Scottish Borders or Kielder Forest Ride through Newcastleton Forest and link up to the Kielder Lakeside Way, a multi user trail around the 27 mile of Kielder Water
Vist Kielder Castle, or the Kielder Observatory while you are there.
For mountain bike routes through Newcastleton Forest see www.7stanesmountainbiking.com
The Grapes Hotel is a cycle hub in the heart of the Scottish Borders, close to the famous Kielder Water and we are a good stop over on the wonderful Reivers Route or Coast to Coast Route which links the Irish Sea with the North Sea.
Many cycle clubs meet at the Grapes and stay more than once a year - Some are family groups just out for a break.
The Reivers Route is one of the most beautiful rides in Britain, going west through rural Northumberland via the Borders down to the Northern Lakes, ending up at Whitehaven. Those wishing to tackle this 173-mile long challenge should book in now and check out the rest of the route on www.reivers-route.co.uk , or in Coast to Coast Cycle Routes (Baytree Press ) available on www.c2c-guide.co.uk
The Grapes Hotel welcomes cyclists and takes pride in being as helpful as possible.
